Aamir Khan, the star with the touch of gold, as was said recently by his buddy Salman Khan, is certainly going to live in the memory of the students of the school in Leh, where he had been a principal in the super hit flick 3 Idiots, as Rancho.

The school, the Druk White Lotus school, which had sadly been miserably affected by flash floods just a couple of months back has now been restored and is in full functional capacity.

It is a beautiful structure, the architecture is very unique and has beautifully designed structures, which have been specially designed by renowned architect S Arup associates. It has the special Ladakh and the modern architecture combined beautifully.

The school which runs with the help of a foundation, is a recipient of many architectural awards, like award for best education, best building, in Asia. It is a joint winner of the best geometrically designed building.

The school boasts of an education that spreads awareness amongst women in remote areas to empower women to be aware of ways in saving the environment. It has recently been honored by UN, as it has at present 500 students on its enrollment list, and it's very focused attitude towards vocational education.

The school is unique as it runs on solar energy, and the materials used for construction have all been derived locally. Even though the school had some financial hitches, it has now been solved to quite an extent as Aamir Khan, aka Rancho is the official brand ambassador of the school, thereby being a big help in its functional activities.
