However, pretty soon they developed bonhomie and began to live like a 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' family syndrome. It was then that the organisers showed their ace gambling on a man of gigantic proportions.
They hurled The Great Khali inside and expected that he would grab immediate eyeballs. Khali came at a big price (and a substantial meal cost). Reportedly, his weekly earnings were close to Rs 40 lakh and the producers had been relying on him heavily clearly expecting that he would create some humdrum inside.
However, contrary to his mammoth size, he turned out to be placid, calm and obnoxiously decent. He gelled well with the housemates and showcased his gentlemanly side. Like a calm, tranquil man, he engaged himself in household activities, tasks without any murmurs or grumbles and did nothing to stir any controversy.
But the fact remains that he is the highest paid celeb inside but still has done nothing to enhance the TRPs. Looks like the bloke has, somehwhat, disappointed the producers. They wanted him to exhibit his brutal, savage side (which we had become used to on WWE) but he was unusually and disappointingly sedate and quiet.
Perhaps, the ploy has backfired as Khali becomes a bone stuck in the producers' throat. But, he still has loads of fans and surely many would watch the show just to admire his bulky muscles.
