Megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Monday promised to lend his voice to at least three songs in the
forthcoming Ravi Chopra blockbuster Babul as a return gift to fans on his 62nd birthday.
Speaking to die-hard admirers from a number of fan clubs, who descended on his Mumbai residence
from across the country, Big B said he would try and recreate the musical magic of Silsila and Lawaris
in his next movie.
Secretary of the West Bengal chapter of AB Fans' Club Sanjay Patodia, who was part of the four-hour
long morning birthday celebration at Bachchan's residence, said that the Big B had assured them of this
'gift' in return for their unabashed adoration over the years.
Bachchan's rich baritone has been as admired as his acting skills for its raw appeal in all time favourites
like Rang Barse and Mere Angne Mein or the soothing poetic rendition that have immortalised songs like
Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum .
"Amitji also asked us to concentrate more on social work and undertake such issues that touch the
lives of the underprivileged," Patodia, who took part in the celebration with a seven member team from
eastern India, said.
The club members were on cloud nine with the Big B gifting them a number of memorabilia - a watch, a
suit, a cap and the Baghban shawl - as keepsakes to enrich their museum here.
Photographs of Bachchan's action movie Zameer signed by its maker B R Chopra had also been gifted
to the club.
"Karan Johar has also promised to send a number of memorabilia from Agnipath and Kabhie Khushi
Kabhie Ghum ," Patodia said.
