Filmmaker Oliver Stone has defended the bisexual content in his new film "Alexander", even as the film is reportedly embroiled in controversy.
In an interview to Playboy magazine carried by Sky News, Stone said: "Alexander lived in a more honest time. We go into his bisexuality. It may offend some people, but sexuality in those days was a different thing.
"(It was) pre-Christian morality (then). Young boys were with boys when they wanted to be," Stone said, revealing that the film was rejected by Hollywood.
The release of the film starring Colin Farrell had been pushed back from Nov 5 to Nov 24, and it has been rumoured that the reason was to cut some of the film's male-on-male love scenes showing Alexander with a Persian eunuch. The film's distributor, Paramount, has denied the rumours.
