"Kya karoon? I guess I'll have to bear the burden of being branded a womanizer. The good thing about Assi@Kashi.com is that I don't force myself on women as I do in Rakht Charitra. I play the protagonist, not the antagonist."
Set in Varanasi and subsuming the contradictory but compatible culture of Oriental spiritualism and touristic Westernization Chandraprakash Diwedi's film to be produced by Crossword Entertainment is based on the celebrated Hindi novel Kashi Ki Assi by Kashinath Singh.
Says the director, "The minute I read the novel I knew I wanted to make it into a film. It's a very funny satire on the contradictions that control the karma of Varanasi. We start shooting in February."
