Sahil Khan will replace Tanushree Dutta in his sequel to Ramaa The Saviour. The producer-actor hasn't forgiven the actress for not promoting their film. Apart from that, he says she also gave the crew a harrowing time.
Not Dutta!
Reasons Sahil, "We're making the second film in 3-D. The budget and production values will be way bigger than the first. I would like to cast another actress in her place.
We (Khan and co-producer Ayesha Shroff) might even get a newcomer on board but Dutta definitely won't be in Ramaa 2."
She refused to show up for the film's promotions. Sahil explains why, "She wasn't there because she wanted 25 solo hoardings all over the town. We never made any such promise to her.
She was aware of the publicity design right from the beginning. The posters were always to have Khali, her and me together. It was a kiddie film with a small budget so we never had the money to give her 25 solo hoardings.
I called and messaged her to ask her to attend the promotions but she never turned up."
The shoot in Thailand was "tough", reveals Khan, adding that, "Tanushree refused to co-operate. She'd keep us waiting by showing up late.
She would make demands for Evian bottles and a personal vanity van deep inside the jungle.
Thailand has strict pollution laws and we even got into trouble because she had kept a car running for long hours just to enjoy the luxury of air-conditioning.
I didn't want to take the risk losing money because of my heroine. That's why you will see I don't have too many scenes with her in Ramaa."
The director, too, bore the brunt of her tantrums. "She'd refuse to do any retakes. She once reprimanded Hadi (Abrar) saying she had done 14 films and he was a newcomer."
