Leander Paes has been the flag-bearer and the sports magnet for the game of tennis in India and is known for his passionate and lionhearted performances, establishing him as the action man of Indian tennis. But Leander is now gung-ho on his new Avatar in the Action-Cut-glamour world of Bollywood, pursuing his newest passion.
Says Director Ashok Kohli "Cinema cannot ignore to mirror society. The problems of an ‘Aam Aadmi' existed then and exist now. My take is essentially about the exclusive, indifferent and abusively patronizing mindset towards them, which is both uncaring and apathetic.
Add to that the derailment of the constitutional promise of liberty, equality and justice to ensure the DIGNITY OF AN INDIVIDUAL, ......... you have your "Rajdhani Express"..The film expresses the angst and retaliation which finds the protagonist trapped in a situation where the powers that be, seek political mileage showcasing the denial of the promise due to the systematic failure. Nevertheless the film, seeks to entertain rather than preach".
Says Producer Manoj Kejriwal "This is the story of a Aam Aadmi condemned to failure and without hope of becoming part of progressive India because of the schisms of caste and class, where even the well off are not safe as those holding power have sabotaged the very meaning and purpose of freedom"
