Not many would know that popular film actress Shabana Azmi habitually loses her keys.
So much that husband Javed Akhtar gave her a key chain with a buzzer, but she lost that too!
Just before coming for a promotional event for her next release "Morning Raga", she lost some important
keys. "I don't know why this happens to me, but these damn keys never seem to like my company,"
says tells Shabana.
On Wednesday, Shabana along with co-stars Perizaad Zorabian and Prakash Rao did a live
videoconference with journalists across the country.
"I have never really tried experimenting with computers, but all this technology is too terrifying for me. If
they can do all this, I wonder if they will replace us all one day!" she said.
Organised by Reliance Web World in Mumbai, Shabana was surprised and excited to see the trailers of
her movie on a mobile phone.
"It is really heartening to see that today people are ignoring small movies when their content is strong. I
really wish that sponsors back such movies rather than just support big budget films," she said referring
to Reliance's support for "Morning Raga".
Shabana also raised the issue of portrayal of women in Indian cinema.
"I'm not worried about vulgarity and nudity on TV and movies as we are all adults and can deal with it.
But what worries me is the image of Indian women dancing in a chiffon sari in Switzerland. Why are
women shown and treated as second-class citizens? If you see the movies Salim-Javed made in the
1980s, even if women had a short role, they were shown doing some activity," she says.
