USUALLY actresses are asked to lose weight for a role in a film. However, in Kangana Ranaut's case, it is just the opposite.
The actress who's famous for her delicate, petite frame has been asked to put on weight for the promotion of her upcoming film Tanu weds Manu.
In the film, Kangana plays a North Indian girl and is seen in a fuller and curvier frame than usual.
A source said, "During the shooting of the film in April, Kangana fractured her leg and was on complete bed rest for a few weeks. As a result, she gained seven kilos.
She was a bit reluctant to start shooting again, as she had gained seven kilos but to her surprise, the director of the film, Anand Rai, was happy to see her with the extra weight.
He felt that girls from Uttar Pradesh have a fuller frame and are not size-zero."
Given that her character in the film looks a bit heavier than her current look, the director has asked her to put on some weight before she starts the promotion of the film.
The source said, "Kangana is required to promote the film as Tanu her character, in the film. The makers have asked her to
travel around in the look of her role in the film.
As she had lost weight during the making of No Problem, she's now been asked to pile on the extra kilos."
Kangana will start promotion of the film in the first week of January, as the film releases on February 25.
"Kangana had put on weight during the shooting of the film and now that we are starting the promotions, I would like her to put on weight for her character.
It's important that people identify with her character, " director Anand Rai said. Whether Kangana will comply with the request is definitely a different story.
