Ronit is now all set to expand his security business into a large training institution for security men. Unknown to all, the actor- entrepreneur has entered into a pioneering business alliance with South Africa's Dynamic Alternatives (the world's largest security consultants and training) to start a school for the training of security recruits in India.
Ronit has almost sealed the deal for 25-acre land for the school in the outskirts of Mumbai in Panvel for the training school. This would mean a massive upgradation of security arrangements in the entertainment industry specially Bollywood.
Explains Ronit, "So far we have to depend onwhatever man power is available to us. Now we can train men in the most advanced techniques of protection and combat thereby making security for celebrities stronger."
Currently shooting round-the-clock for Ekta Kapoor's serial Bandini the media-shy Ronit admits he is indeed opening a security school this year. "We've entered into an alliance with Dynamic Alternatives. We would be their sole franchise-holder in India with the latest hi-tech training equipment."
In the proposed security-training school recruits would be trained like commandos, rendering official channels of celebrity protection somewhat redundant.
Recalls Ronit, "Quite frankly I started my security agency because my acting career didn't take off. I didn't know any other way of making a living. I never thought the agency would be such a success. Today we feel the need to train young men as security guards. In our school we'd prepare not just our own recruits for my agency we'll provide man power for security purposes to other agencies across the country."
Ronit's career as an actor has suddenly taken off after Udaan. "It's been a tough life for me. Nothing has come easily.Strangely the best offers are coming from outside India where Udaan has been warmly received. I am happy to be recognized."
Ronit was divorced some years ago and he has not seen much of his 19-year old daughter who lives in the US.
Ronit has received nominations for best actor in the negative role in Udaan. He is happy for the recognition.
"When we were shooting the director Vikramditya Motwane and I were constantly debating over subtexts to my character. My character finally came across as an arrogant autocrat. But that's okay. If my character is perceived as negative he did have many negative shades, though I wouldn't call him a villain."
