Going by a glam doll's clock, Diana Hayden has been a wee bit late in joining the tinsle town but don't worry the former miss world is doing everything in her capacity to make up for lost ground.
Barely a few months old in the industry and Diana already has a couple of hot projects and a lawsuit on her hands. As a result the pretty lady has to take some time out for the legal advice, from her rigorous professional life, which involves a lot of stripping in front of camera (For further details go and watch her ‘Ab Bas' TV promos).
Confront her on the issue of nudity and she retorts, "I'm doing less than most. I wouldn't do a bikini without a sarong, not because there's something wrong with it - I'm just not comfortable. A lot of actresses would do that and more."
But in the same breath she goes on to segregate the essential sexuality from the non-essential one.
"I personally think that our country is starved of sex-education, hence people have warped ideas about it. There's a market for it, hence there's a supply. I would not put films like ‘Jism' and ‘Murder'. I think Mahesh Bhatt has mastered the art of showing skin with class and sophistication. But, for the rest of the films that are tackily made," she says.
So do we see Diana as the next big thing after Bipasha and Mallika?
"No," pat comes the reply.
"It's incidental that I do have a good body but I'm not competing with Bipasha Basu or Mallika. I am here to do strong roles and act. Even in ‘Ab Bas' I play a 21st century modern woman who does not take bullshit from anyone."
And those who still think that the loudest mouth of industry belongs to Mallika Sherawat, just listen to her parting shot, "When I said, every second Indian male has been leading an adulterous life since time immemorial, I was being generous by saying ‘every second' Indian married man. Most of my married friends agree with me on this and I stand by my statement."
