Singer-composer Adnan Sami created history on Friday with a little help from Yash Chopra. Sami, after a decade-long
association with Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, crossed over to Yashraj Studios to create a musical record.
Sami's fans watched him live on Facebook and YouTube, as he recorded music for his new album's title song, Main Tere
Paas Hoon, a number he dedicated to his late father.
It is a first not only in the Indian recording industry but also for Yashraj. News is that the production house has signed on
Sami for a time-free deal. This allows the singer to create and compose unlimited musical resources for the banner.
"We announced it before the recording was aired live, and received 63,000 requests for invites," said Sami.
The rumour mills are active over Sami's bitter fall-out with T-Series, the music company that has produced most of his albums
in India.
"Bhushan and I shared a fruitful and rewarding relationship. But Yash uncle treats me like a son. He is also the guaranteer for
my Indian citizenship.
"My Indian passport may materialise any day, and when it does, I have him to thank. How could I let him down?" said Sami.
