Padma Shri winner Indian author Ruskin Bond is going to have a cameo appearance in Vishal Bharadwaj's upcoming movie
Saat Khoon Maaf, which is based on the writer's short story 'Susannah's Seven Husbands'.
The novelist will have his big screen appearance and he has jokingly said that he asked Vishal not to cut his role in the movie.
Bond was speaking at the DSC Jaipur Literature Festival.
The 76-year old author said that the filmmaker has
earlier made another film Blue Umbrella, which was also made on his story. The novelist said that Vishal's wife recommended
him to take the story.
Apart from doing a cameo in Saat Khoon Maaf, he has been actively involved with the scripting of the film. Earlier, another
filmmaker also made a movie called Junoon, which was based on his short story 'The Flight of Pigeons'. But for that movie, he
even did not meet the director.
Bond informed that 'Susannah's Seven Husbands' was initially a short story of few pages but he expanded it to a 200-page
full-length Hindi script for Vishal's movie. He said that the lead lady Priyanka Chopra needs to kill each of her seven husbands
in the movie, so he had to devise regional of these killings.
We are sure that the viewers would love to watch the writer in the cameo role!
