Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan said that it is the support of his fans that helped him complete 40 years in the film industry.

"Quite undoubtedly it has been the prayers and support of the fans that put me in your midst today! I strive each day to live up to it, " Big B tweeted.

On Saturday night, he was honoured by Filmfare for completing 40 long years in the Hindi film industry.

"Used to stand on the pavement outside Shanmukhanand Hall, where FilmFare used to be held, and wonder if I would get to see it someday, and today after 40 years, they pay me a tribute ! I could never have dreamt of it even. I just wanted to be able to get inside Hall !" he remarked in Twitter.

Starting his career in the film 'Saat Hindustani', Bachchan has entertained his fans in multiple avatars over the past forty years.

"Overwhelmed by all your good wishes and congratulatory words for 40 years Filmfare Award.. thank you.. you make life worth it !!" tweeted Big B.
