Newlyweds Imran Khan and Avantika Malik will have a spanking new place soon.
24 Pali Hill, where the star lives, is being redone. The place has been draped in sheets the telltale signs of construction activity. Cement bags, stones and bricks have also been stacked up in the vicinity.
Aamir Khan's nephew has been staying at the residence of the late filmmaker Nasir Hussain (Imran's grandfather), with his mother Nuzhat.
The bungalow is one of the old landmarks of Pali Hill in Bandra. Nasir Hussain's son, director Mansoor Khan, lives in Coorg.
Says a source, "Imran and Avantika will have a place of their own at the bungalow.
The family does not want to raze the bungalow and construct a brand new structure. They want to keep the old-world charm of the place. So instead they are redoing certain portions where the star and his wife will live."
The couple had their registered wedding ceremony on January 10 in the bungalow.
Adds the source, "There are several memories attached to the place so Imran wants to continue staying there."
At the moment, the actor is staying at his in-laws' place at Carter Road in Bandra.
Imran's spokesperson says, "Renovation work has been going on and it will take a few months before Imran and Avantika shift in.
All these years, the bungalow remained as it was but after Imran started acting in films, there was need for more space for all his stuff as well as an office. Accordingly, things are being redone.
Work has been on for a while now."
