A bomb threat reported from one of the main venues of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) sent
Goa police into a tizzy.
A call claiming a bomb had been placed at the newly-built Inox multiplex, in the heart of the city, was
received at 8 pm, DGP Amod Kanth told PTI here today.
"We received the call at 8 pm and were able to trace it immediately to an STD booth. We checked the
theatre within half-an-hour and were not able to detect such threat", he said adding the threat turned out to be
a hoax.
"We will be carrying out a detailed investigation into the matter", said Kanth, who refused to divulge the
location of the STD booth.
However, highly-placed government officials denied the bomb threat and said it was part of a police
`drill'.
"It was not a bomb scare. We were just conducting a drill to check the response time in case of such an
eventuality during the actual event".
