Govinda's life may have undergone a transformation this year, with the actor getting into meditation, and yoga, and skipping a meal religiously every day.
But the one thing that has remained constant is the speculation over his friendship with Salman Khan, his co-star in super hit film Partner.
Govinda is far from amused.
"People seem to have forgotten that I had 40 successes to my credit before Salman Khan and Partner, " he grumbled, albeit good naturedly, talking about the speculation over whether he is friends with the superstar or not.
"It seems that's all there is to my life, " laughs Govinda. "Waqt waqt ki baat hai. Today, since I'm not doing any films, people go on about whether I am friends with Salman or not."
Setting the record straight, Govinda says, "We are friends, yes. But we have our own own lives. He does his own thing. I do mine. We lead completely separate lives."
As for the sequel to the 2007 comedy, Govinda has left it completely to friend and Partner director David Dhawan.
"David has not been able to crack an idea that will work for the sequel. The first film had a fantastic premise. We need an even better storyline in the sequel. The minute it happens, we are on. My personal equation with Salmanbhai has nothing to do with Partner 2."
Govinda says he is using his time well, before he gets busy with new assignments. "I do several hours of meditation and yoga. I sleep early and skip dinner every day. It keeps me healthy and toned."
