Chaos ensued here as the Temptations 2004 live show featuring Shah Rukh Khan was delayed by more
than three hours. But it still ran to a packed house.
The show, also starring Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherjee, Zayed Khan and Saif Ali Khan, still went ahead to a
packed house.
Sun City director of entertainment Karen Els tells that a computer crash forced the delay Sunday evening.
More than 6,000 irate fans found themselves desperately trying to find a temporary place to sit, as nobody
was allowed into the venue while the problem was fixed.
Restaurant staff was overwhelmed with the sudden demand for food, while some patrons opted for refunds,
mainly due to concerns about driving back home late at night on long and unsafe roads.
"My children are writing exams tomorrow morning, and we expected to be home (in Lenasia, about three
hours drive from Sun City) long before midnight, but not anymore," said Aslam Mohamed, who decided to
have his family's tickets worth 15,000 rands refunded as his three children stood there disappointed.
Several hundred fans who had earlier arrived at the venue in a desperate bid to find a ticket had an
unexpected windfall from those who left.
In Durban too, rain failed to dampen spirits at an open stadium during the first of the two shows in the South
African leg of Shah Rukh's world tour Saturday evening.
