Ranbir Kapoor has been appointed the ambassador for the campaign 'Marks For Sports' for a channel.

The actor is encouraging schools and colleges to take sports as a subject and allot marks for it. Says RK, "It's something I truly believe in. I've always been an avid fan of sports but it's my belief that this isn't enough.

Our country needs to take sports more seriously and not just as a hobby. As part of Marks For Sports, I hope to strive to do just that."

The star will also be meeting Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal to further the cause.
