In their heyday, the Amitabh Bachchan-Prakash Mehra combo delivered hit pe hit with the likes of Sharaabi, Zanjeer, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Namak Halaal and Lawaaris.

Mehra's son Amit wants to recreate that success with childhood friend, Abhishek Bachchan.

An industry insider reveals, "Amit wants to direct a film. He has been working on a few scripts and he is very keen on having Abhishek on board his directorial debut since the two are childhood friends.

He wrote out a script and discussed it with AB Jr, who wasn't as excited and started avoiding his calls."

While Mehra was unavailable for comment, Abhishek maintains. "Amit is a very good friend but we haven't discussed any scripts."
