Bollywood star Aamir Khan will take part in a telethon with former Pakistan cricket captain Imran Khan as part of an event to raise funds for his Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital on December 10 and 11.

According to the Daily Times, the telethon has been arranged in collaboration with a local TV channel. Aamir and other popular Indian artists will also attend fundraising dinners for the hospital on those two days in Lahore and Karachi.

The proceeds from all these events will go towards the treatment of underprivileged patients at the cancer hospital, the paper said.

Khan will arrive in Lahore on December 10, where he will address a press conference before attending the largely private dinner, the Daily Times quotes the hospital's public relations manager, Khawaja Nazir Ahmed, as saying.

According to Ahmed, Khan will also visit the hospital named after Imran's mother on the same day. Naeem Bukhari is hosting the fundraiser. A second fundraiser will be held in Karachi.
