Akshay Kumar shoots for Desi Boyz in Oxford, drives to London to be with the family when they're in town.

Akshay Kumar would rather trade in the pleasures of the idyllic environs of Oxford for the bustle of London. And he'd do that just so he could spend time with wife Twinkle and son Aarav.

Off to London!

A source reveals, "Akki is in Oxford shooting for Desi Boyz. Tina and Aarav dropped in last week for 10 days though the family's annual vacation is usually in July.

The Kumars moved base to London after a couple of days, as their friends are based there. Also, Oxford doesn't have much by way of amusement parks or shopping malls." Khiladi Kumar found a way around the problem.

Way out

"Akshay stays in London with his family, shoots at Oxford all day and travels by car or the London Metro. Though it's a two-hour journey by road Akki doesn't find the distance tiring or long as the roads are smooth and beautiful. Mumbai's stretches of uneven, bumpy roads make the commute there a pain."

When the shoot gets late, the actor takes the underground tube trains to reach his hotel in central London.

"That way, it cuts travel time. He sometimes prefers to travel incognito with a scarf or cap around or on his head, with his bodyguard in tow."
