Rahul to appear in Anurag Kashyap's next project

Remember Rahul Bhat? Not Mahesh Bhatt's son, this guy shot to fame with the soap Heena and was later seen in some flicks. No? Well, nothing proves better that out of sight is out of mind, right?

Well, said nondescript actor is making a comeback in maverick filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's next, a thriller in a leading role.

An insider informs, "After several interactions with Bhat, Kashyap decided to cast him for the role because he felt Rahul understood the intensity of the role."

So what was the actor up to, all this while?

"He had started a TV production house. He took a break from acting because he wasn't excited by the roles he was being offered," reveals the source.

Anurag defends his choice, "I have known Rahul since my struggling days when we lived next door to each other. I only discovered his potential much later when I started to interact with him.

I feel he is perfect for the role because his life experience is quite close to the character I am writing."

PSST:
This isn't the actor's film debut. He has already appeared in Nayee Padosan (2003) and Yeh Mohabbat Hai (2002) before this. Both, totally missable films, BTW.
