Please fasten your seatbelts. Today we are going 'over the Top' to discuss a raging controversy in Bollywood.
What it actually takes to go Topless?
Giving much needed break to Mallika Sherawat, Negar Khan and their other over-worked sisters, we incorporate views from some other young talents in the tinsel-town like Bengali bombshell Mona Lisa, Ludhiana lass Mallika Nayyar and the former Miss Madhya Pradesh Tanvi Varma.
While Mona Lisa has already shown her 'talent' in a recent sex comedy 'Tauba Tauba', Mallika and Tanvi still have to prove that beauty can be skin deep too.
Ask them, how much is enough for each of them to breach the final frontier and Mona Lisa quickly fires the first salvo.
"I'm a director's 'baby' and will do anything for a filmmaker after I begin to trust him. Once I am shooting, I forget I am Mona Lisa. As an actress I believe in having full faith in the person under whose direction I am working. Yes, if the director asks me to go topless, I will even do that," she divulges.
Smelling the competition Mallika goes next.
According to her: "I am competing with Mallika Sherawat and Bipasha Basu. These girls have great bodies and are willing to flaunt it whenever the script demands. Why can't I do the same? I have no problems about going topless if my director wants me to. I too have a gorgeous body."
Further elucidating her views she says, "The Indian audience has very different tastes today. You have to give them what they want or else they will not hesitate to reject you outright. Like it or not, sex and exposure have become staple in our films and I can do anything to ensure that the film is a box office success.
That leaves Tanvi all charged up and she too takes the plunge by saying, "Look, in today's world just looks and talent are not enough. You must produce something special to survive and eventually rise to the top. But even when I go topless, it doesn't look vulgar because the flow and mood of the story requires such exposure."
But the pretty lady doesn't stop here. Giving some insight into the plight of a rape victim, her character in KC Bokadia's Bold, Varma says, "You just can't shoot rape and physical torture without exposing the upper half of your body. I therefore decided to show it all to my fans. To be honest, I have thoroughly enjoyed doing what I have done so far."
So what's the verdict for all the aspiring Bollywood wannabes, who want to join the Bollywood's Bra-Burning Brigade?
"Don't even think about coming to Bollywood, if you are not prepared to go topless. Be bold and confident about what you are doing and no one can stop you from making it big," they proclaim in one voice.
