The screening was a part of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries' effort to increase awareness on Alzheimer disease, which is the epicentre of the movie as well.
'Dhoosar', meaning 'blurred' in English, is based on the journey of a mother-daughter duo while dealing with the Alzheimer disease.
Speaking on the occasion, director Amol Palekar said, "This film deals with such an issue, which all of us must be aware of. Thus reaching maximum people is necessary."
Special screenings of the film were also held in Goa and Delhi to spread the message throughout the country, he said.
Asked if a Marathi film will be well-received by people of Bengal, he said, "The Bengalis love me more than the people of Maharashtra, hence I always try to bring about my latest ventures to the city."
He further said that he will be glad to make a Bengali film and is waiting for someone from Bengal to invite him.
