Reputed playwright and stage director Feroz Bhagat, who shares an indisputable reputation on stage and had last co-produced "Calcutta Mail" with friend Mukesh Udeshi, is all set to make his directorial debut.

Bhagat, who has just completed the scripting, has already confirmed Rahul Bose to play the central character in the film to be made under Udeshi's banner, reports Bollywood Trade.

"It is a thought-provoking film with powerful characterisations and I felt that only a versatile actor like Rahul could give the required conviction to the character. Besides, I did not want to work with big stars since stars are trapped in their own images," Bhagat reveals.

The rest of the cast is currently under consideration but Bhagat is planning to have an official launch for the film in January 2005.
