Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has so far kept mum on social activist Anna Hazare's stir against corruption, says he supports every movement for the betterment of the country, and he doesn't need to publicise his support all the time.

"Koi bhi kaam ya yojana jo desh ke hit mein hoti hai, uski sarahana karte hain hum...aur iska dhindora hum peetana nahin chate...aur na hi hame is ka gyaan hai ki woh peeta kaise jaata hai!! (I support any work or plan for the country's betterment. But I do not like to publicise it, and neither do I know how to publicise it)," Amitabh posted on his blog.

The 68-year-old reacted when Pooja, one of blog readers, raised questions as to why Big B didn't choose to be vocal about Hazare's fast-unto-death, unlike other actors.

Pooja posted: "I can't believe people are requesting him to tweet for the campaign against corruption. If he cared, I am pretty sure he would have done more than just a tweet.

If this was a movie, he wud have gone and sat with anna and been part of the campaign. I dnt expect him to fast but I expected him to be vocal abt his support like Aamir Khan. But then ya he is busy amassing more wealth for 10 more generations. He doesn't have time for a cause of a 72- year-old."

Amitabh was quite infuriated with the comment, and took to his blog for clarification.

"I do not have to preach and shout out my allegiance towards my country from every rooftop, every day. My loyalty is not up for questioning and is not, most certainly, in a realm where it can be doubted...it is painful to know that without having complete knowledge of the matter from my end, she could assume factors which are not existent.

"It would be foolish to think that any individual that is a citizen of our great land would ever not want to acknowledge factors that express a oneness and benefit for one's own country.

Anything that is done for the betterment of our system is laudable. To state that I am busy and interested in earning my money only and not concerned with matters of social interest, is completely unacceptable and unfair," he added.
