A show in Sri Lanka featuring Shah Rukh Khan and a galaxy of other Bollywood stars will go ahead
Saturday in spite of protests from Buddhist monks in that country, say organisers.
The monks wanted the "Temptations 2004" event to be postponed, saying it would coincide with the first
death anniversary of monk Gongodawila Soma Thero.
But organisers here say that is not possible.
"We are surely going ahead with our plans for Saturday as planned. The show has not been postponed or
cancelled," tells Shirin Morani, one of the organisers.
Shah Rukh's troupe includes actors Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Zayed Khan and Celina
Jaitly.
The organisers said the show was planned quite some time back and a lot of money had already been spent.
Also, getting dates from all the stars together was very difficult, they said.
The Sri Lankan monks had said they had no objection to Shah Rukh and his troupe performing, but did not
want the concert in Colombo to go ahead on Saturday.
