Farhan Akhtar is disappointed and hurt with the news printed on the Bombay Times (dated April 18, 2011), front page since there is no truth whatsoever in the story printed. This fictional creation can only be attributed to being a figment of the writer's or his so-called source's imagination.

According to Akhtar, it's very unfortunate that such a story was created and printed.

"I'm surprised and upset by the complete disregard of the journalists sense of ethics and lack of sensitivity to the effect such kind of skewed writing can have on a persons life" is what Farhan Akhtar has to say about the piece.

The article "Farhan's new friend" is nothing but a misleading article and the statements and insinuation made therein by the author have no basis in fact.

Akhtar also adds that " There has to be a line drawn between creative sensational journalism and personal attacks, its just not a news piece here."
