A well-placed source informs, "The wedding scene is recently shot in a real wedding in Jaipur. In the scene Freida's character named Trishna is shown attending a wedding with her friends.
It was a high profile wedding attended by Rajasthan's Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and other political leaders of the state. The director took permission from the groom's father to shoot at the wedding, which he happily agreed to.
It not only saved the production cost but also added authenticity to the film." Reveals the source, "The guests at the wedding were completely charmed by Freida's friendly and non starry attitude."
Director Michael Winterbottom has revealed that Trishna is a modern-day adaptation of Thomas Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles that was published in 1891 and is one of the all time classics of English literature. The film is being co-produced by Anurag Kashyap, Sunil Bohra and Guneet Monga.
Party prank
Meanwhile, a source reveals that Anurag Kashyap pulled a prank on his friends along with the co producer of Trishna Guneet Monga.
The duo called up all their friends for a surprise party in Madh Island. They did not reveal the venue but arranged transport from the Madh jetty.
The message was sent to the friends via Facebook. So when Anurag's friend's reached the venue they realised that it was basically the film set of Freida Pinto's Trishna and they were supposed to act as guests in the party scene for the film.
Anurag's strategy helped saving some production money and added a lot of authenticity to the scene.
