Salman Khan has landed in trouble for his smoking habit. And ironically, it happened on May 31, a No Smoking Day. The star was asked to pay a fine of Rs 200 for puffing in public while shooting for Bodyguard in Punjab.

Smoking is banned in Punjab and Sallu was spotted smoking at a hotel where the shooting was taking place.

He was issued a challan by the Patiala district administration on the basis of a photograph published in a local newspaper. The hotel authority was issued a challan, too. A crew member of the film's production unit received the challan on Sallu's behalf. The star or his representative will have to appear before the district magistrate, who may decide the penalty amount.

A Patiala-based NGO has also decided to serve a legal notice to him for smoking in a public place. In January 2009, the actor was issued two notices for lighting up at a public place in Kurali town in Punjab's Mohali district.
