It's not even the weekend yet and Band Baaja Baaraat has already bagged three trophies at the prestigious IIFA Awards ceremony taking place in Toronto this year.
The runaway hit of last year, Band Baaja Baaraat was looking at another successful run at one of the last awards ceremony for the year and are now tied in the top spot with Robot and Dabanngg.
The first technical award won was for best editing by Namrata Rao.
The smoothness of the well- crafted film had bowled many over as well as the catchy and fresh musical direction of the film by the two renowned music directors Salim – Suleiman.
This is probably why the second technical award was for the song ‘Ainvayi ainvayi' by Vijay Dayal. The song went on to become one of the year's most popular songs and stayed on top of the musical charts for a long
time indeed.
The third technical award was for the costume designing by Niharika Khan.
Making the characters of ambitious and no-nonsense Shruthi from a middle class Delhi background and a typically fun-loving, jobless college boy Bittoo come alive with a feel of down-to-earth and realistic attire was a
task for Niharika, which she managed to pull off with aplomb.
Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of Band Baaja Baaraat and well deserved!
