The underdog and understated Arup aka Vir Das of "Delhi Belly" will soon be seen in a serious role in Tanuja Chandra's next "Raakh". The stand up comedian-turned-actor lost eight kgs in two months for the role.
"This movie will put me out as an actor as there is complete transformation from what I have done in the past. It is a drama and revolves around a family in Bhopal, " Vir told.
"I also had to learn the Bhopali dialect for the movie and had to focus on my walk. So you will see a new me and I had to get rid of the bulk, so I lost around eight kilos in two months, " he added.
The movie is slated for a Diwali release.
Tanuja has earlier directed "Dushman", "Sangharsh" and "Zindaggi Rocks".
