Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, whose ambitious project "Paani" has been in the making for many years now,
says it's easier to make sequels to his films than to work on "a passion film like 'Paani'".
"Quite normal for passion films like 'Paani' to take time. These r films made despite many odds. 'Gandhi' took 15 yrs (sic), " Kapur
posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Though he has no immediate plans to work on sequels to "Elizabeth 2" or "Mr.India", he added: "Far easier 2 make 'Elizabeth 3' or
'Mr.India 2'. Bt my heart lies in 'Paani'."
"Paani" is a film on water wars, and shows how water becomes a precious commodity and creates a rift between communities.
"When I 1st announced Paani no 1 thght it was ab issue. Now suddenly every1 has woken up, " added Kapur, who will begin
shooting the movie in November.
"Paani" is expected to release in mid-2012.
