"Anjuna Beach" director Shakeel Saifee who accused Goa police for accepting bribe to let him continue the movie shooting, may face police action for his false statements in the media.

The police department had launched a preliminary probe based on the allegations while a team was also sent to Mumbai to record Saifee's statement wherein he admitted to have bribed Rs 10,000 to Anjuna police.

Apart from the written statement, Saifee had submitted supporting evidence in form of CD allegedly showing cops accepting the bribe. Anjuna DySP Sammy Tawares, heading the inquiry has submitted the report to North Goa Superintendent of Police Arvind Gawas.

"There is nothing in the video footage to indict the policemen. However, I am yet to go through the report," SP Gawas said.

The multilingual movie, which is ready to hit the theaters on July 29, has already stirred controversy for illegally shooting in the tourist state.

The director was thereafter interviewed confessing the disobedience while also claiming to have bribed the police to let the shooting happen on the beach for two hours.
