After Robot, there is understandable anticipation for Rajnikanth's Rana, which has been mired following the southern superstar's failing health.
From the first day of shoot to the entire hullabaloo that followed after he was hospitalised and to when he finally returned to Chennai after treatment, almost every move of his is being closely monitored.
However, it may be a while before you see the Boss back on the big screen. Contrary to reports that the south sensation will resume shooting in a month, sources confirm that he will not be back in action before mid- October.
The actor, who has been undergoing treatment for various medical issues including a lung infection, has been advised strict bed-rest for the next three months.
A source confirms, "The actor had lost half his weight when he came back from Singapore and he is currently recuperating at his farm house. It would take him a while to bounce back. So shooting would only resume mid-October."
Double help
Apparently, the writers of the film too, are being extra cautious with the sequences of Rana since it is touted as a period action-drama flick.
"Some sequences would be obviously digital. But in this film Rajnikanth plays three different roles and thus, he will be required to devote a lot of physical energy.
We are trying to see if we can downplay certain action scenes or use body doubles in certain places where we can manage with one, " the source adds. The delay also means that Deepika Padukone will have to rework her dates to suit the Boss.
Blame it on the title?
Since the launch of the project Rajnikanth has not been in the pink of health, which has forced many of his fans to request him to change the title of the film. Apparently, they think Rana is jinxed and once he changes the title, things will get better for the star.
