Designer Suneet Varma's show on the second day of Synergy1 Delhi Couture Week Saturday failed to leave a lasting
impression on fashionistas, who said it lacked the unique touches expected of him and seemed just "average".
Though Varma's couture line "Kamasutra" started on an exciting note with two dancers showing off seductive moves under
water, it did not live up to the promise, felt many in the audience.
Models sashayed down the ramp, converted into red carpet area with bells hanging from the ceiling, but failed to strike the
interest of the audience, with garments seeming more of wedding line with a mix of heavily embellished lehangas, saris,
anarkalis and suits.
The colour palettes varied from pink, yellow, blue, to red and orange.
Varma is probably the first designer in the fashion world who has chosen such a bold theme. Asked about it, he quipped:
"Fashion is the politest way of talking about sex."
Veteran actress Sushma Seth in the audience to support Varma.
