Less than three months after announcing that she was taking a break from her performing career, pop star Britney Spears has said she is back at work.

According to a letter posted on her website, she has been doing several things in the last few weeks.

She's co-directed "a cute video" for "Do Somethin'," a track from her greatest-hits collection, where she "came up with all the choreography and styled the entire (video) shoot".

Spears started "working on writing and hopefully eventually directing a musical which makes fun of the whole Hollywood scene" and a bought a new dog Lucky.

Also acquired were a dresser and a "baby chandelier" for the star's other dog, Bit Bit.

There was no mention of husband Kevin Federline, the dancer Spears married last fall.

According to E! Online, Spears has hired a new manager to help with her and Federline's career. She wants to help hubby become a hip-hop star.

Spears, who turned 22 Dec 2, has said she wants to become more "hands on" with the "business side of things".
