Ayesha Jhulka's comeback in Pammi Somal's Na Jaane Kabse has gone kaput. Due to the Khiladi girl's tantrums, the directors have chopped off her role and reduced it to a miniscule appearance in the film.
Says Pammi also the director of Mummy Punjabi, "Ayesha is an old friend of mine, and since she was Ayub Khan's first heroine, I thought it would be nice to bring them back together after so many years.
It would have been a wonderful comeback for her as it's a very good role."
So, what went wrong then? "My main issue was her late coming. I agree she is a housewife, but as a professional you can't come so late to work and do everything at your own sweet time, " rues Pammi.
The other problem was with the make-up artistes that Ayesha insisted on working with. "When Ayesha insisted on her make-up people, I indulged her.
But then it went out of control... they demanded for more money, madam wanted pizza for her parlour girls I mean, money is not the problem when you are spending crores, it is the attitude.
Ayesha can very well afford to pay for her personal stuff without bothering the production team, especially since she's married to a builder, " she fumes.
The filmmaker claims Ayesha's demands kept getting bigger and bigger, which is why she finally decided to put her foot down. "I can do without an Ayesha Jhulka in my film.
I am the writer of the film, and can change the track. Enough is enough! She needs a wake-up call, " she adds.
