Akshay Kumar is set to play goodwill ambassador for the Special Olympics in a bid to spread awareness about the event in which 60,000 athletes will participate.

Akshay's activities before the Special Olympics would include one-on-one interactions with athletes at coaching camps, track events and workshops. Martial arts demonstrations and dance shows are on the cards too.

Akshay appealed to the media to write about the mentally challenged. He also said that after his interaction with children in Ahmedabad he felt disabled kids were far more focussed than actors.
