The song sees Tusshar trying to woo actress Minissha Lamba, and the fusion was suggested by the production team.
"The whole idea was conceptualised by the producers and choreography team. I had to woo Minissha in the song, change avatars and dance. It was choreographer Adil's idea to have me in Johnny's 'Pirates of the Caribbean' outfit.
Project co-ordinator Rafiq Kazi, a fan of dad, suggested a Jeetendra take-off. It was a Herculean task. There are 100 different things to do, from the braids and the sling, to the pyjamas and the waistcoat, " said Tusshar.
The song was shot on a beachside, and if a source from the unit is to be believed, the crowds on the beach went crazy after seeing Tusshar's get up. The actor, however, had a tough time.
"We had a lot of fun, but thank god it was the last shot of the day. I wouldn't have wanted to go through the ordeal of getting into that get up again. Hats off to Mr.Depp, " the actor said.
"Hum Tum Shabana", produced by Horseshoe Pictures and Alliance Entertainment, also features Shreyas Talpade. Directed by Sagar Ballary, it will release Sep 23.
