An elaborate homage to Michael Jackson at Times Square with Shahid moonwalking to his favourite MJ numbers had been planned for the date, replete with flash-mobs and seasoned chorus dancers from the worldover performing to Jackson's beats, alongside Shahid.
But like they say, Man proposes Nature disposes. Hurricane Irene has road-blocked plans of Shahid's MJ homage at Times Square.
Says a source very close to the project, "The producers of Mausam had gone to great pains to get the required permission for Shahid's performance at Times Square.
Flash-mobs comprising world-class male and female dancers who were going to join in Shahid's performance, had been practising for weeks. The entire event was kept under wraps in India. The whole idea was to let loose Shahid's dancing prowess on the world's most avidly eyeballed recreational venue in the world. "
With the hurricane proving a spoilsport a new date in September for the event is being planned for what promises to be one of the most unique Bollywood performances in the history of Times Square.
Producer Sheetal Talwar confirms Shahid's historical tryst at Times Square. "Yes we were all set to have Shahid's performance at Times Square on August 29. Now another date is being worked out. "
