Action hero Akshay Kumar, who is in the midst of promoting his Indo-Canadian venture "Speedy Singh", Monday announced the third edition of his karate tournament, to be held Oct 19-22. The actor promises it will be "bigger and better".

"For all karate enthusiasts, I'm back with my yearly karate tournament, bigger and better than ever before from 19th to 22nd Oct, 2011, " Akshay posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The event -- Akshay Kumar International Invitational Karate-do Championship 2011 -- will be held at Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai.

Akshay, a black belt in Taekwondo, had launched the event in 2009, and also plans to open a martial arts school in Mumbai.

The 44-year-old also started learning traditional combat karate for his role in upcoming film "Rowdy Rathore", directed by Prabhudeva.
