Phansekar has just completed the shooting of a Marathi film, "Ramchandra Purshottam Joshi", which he shot in a record period of 12 days. The film is a black comedy that tells the story of a dead man's soul living in hell, which is granted permission to visit family and friends in his original avatar, for a period of eight days.
"It is based on a one-act play 'Varsha Shraddha' that I had earlier directed," he informs. The title role in the film has been played by veteran Marathi actor Dilip Prabhavalkar who, according to Phansekar, has given an award-winning performance in the film.
Among other things, Phansekar has used extensive special effects in the film to depict the sequences in hell. "There are 15 minutes of special effects in the film. In fact, I created an entire chroma floor in Filmistan studio where I shot a major part of the film," he informs.
He is now planning to dub the film in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu before releasing it simultaneously all over India.
"The film has shaped up very well and I felt it would be ideal to dub it in more languages so that more people could see it. Besides, it is time Marathi films got their due. 'Shwaas' has already made the beginning," he says.
