My brother... Nikhil, is a film which has been made possible because of the cast and crew's belief in the
project. It is touted as a story that has never been told or seen on film before.
Nikhil Kapoor (Sanjay Suri) was the Goa state swimming champion between the years 1986 to 1989. A man
who trained in the rivers, ruled the pool and conquered the sea. He was the pride of his family and the idol of
his peers.
Nikhil has everything a caring family that consists of his father and coach (Victor Banerjee), mother
(Lillete Dubey), friends (Purab Kohli, Shayan Munshi, Gautam Kapoor) and a caring girlfriend (Dippanita
Sharma).
Handsome, charming, jovial, he was the blue-eyed boy of Goa and then one day tragedy
strikes the Kapoor family. Nikhil was arrested. The reason – he was HIV positive.
Juhi Chawla is Anamika Kapoor, Nikhil's sister, his source of Unconditional love, a loving and caring
sister.
The film deals with how an extremely happy family, a closely-knit family disintegrates and
finally comes in terms with the tragedy.
It is about redefining relationships in times of crisis.
About a sisters unconditional love for her brother.
About a swimmers fall from social grace.
About a father-son relationship.
About a friendship that withstood social disapproval
About bravery, courage and acceptance.
And finally about a mans aspiration and his quest for happiness and dignity.
