Kohli, who was previously confident of finding a new way to shoot his romantic flick, earlier titled Teri Meri Kahani, in Punjab, is now re-writing his film's script, removing any references to the state.
According to a source, Kohli took the decision after watching Mausam. He said, "Kunal was going to shoot in Punjab, despite Jab We Met.
But then Mausam came along." Apart from what would have been a similar setting, both Mausam and Kohli's films have a Hindu-Muslim love story at its core.
In Mausam, Kapoor played a Hindu boy, who fell in love with a Muslim girl, and in Kohli's film, he will act as a Muslim boy whose love interest is a Hindu girl.
When contacted, Kohli said, "The idea is to explore new territory. What's the point of going to the same area?"
