Filmmaker Binoy Gandhi has managed to bring together an unlikely pair after producers like Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala failed. We are talking about Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan. Kapoor, who had played truant till now, insisting that he would act only in solo-hero films, was finally convinced to act with his contemporary by childhood friend, Gandhi.
The buzz is that the duo is now game. Last Monday, Kapoor and Khan, who were close friends before they went to press saying they were never friends, were seen bonding at a Juhu multiplex.
There was competitive speak when the two young actors made their debut around the same time in 2007-2008. Thereafter, the two stayed away from each other in social circles, careful not to attend a function hosted by the other.
Last week, the two turned up together on the request of Kunal Kohli's assistant director Gandhi, whose short 45-minute feature film titled, Ishq Holiday was previewing.
"Binoy had invited both, Ranbir and Imran, and once they showed up, they put the friction between them into cold storage. They watched Binoy's film and were seen chatting through the preview, " said a source.
When asked how he managed to bring the two stars together, Gandhi said, "Ranbir is a childhood friend, and Imran and I have got along since the time he worked in Break Be Baad for Kunal Kohli. It was nice of them to support me."
Gandhi says he hopes to work with both actors in the future.
