TV host on her meeting with the filmmaker at the premiere of his film in Paris and Brussels

We have all grown up watching Steven Spielberg movies like E T and Indian Jones. He has always featured in my favourite top 10 director's list. When the opportunity came along to attend The Adventures of Tintin's Brussels and Paris premiere and interview Steven Spielberg, I played it cool.

It was an absolute action adventure. I was there for four days from October 20 to 24. We went to Brussels where Tintin was born. I was euphoric to see his murals on the street walls.

He is like their local national hero. I saw Herge's museum, the man who created Tintin. I travelled from Brussels to Paris on the Tintin train with the cast and the crew. I remember when SS was unveiling the train he said he hadn't travelled on a train in 15 years. At the red carpet premiere in Paris there was so much fan frenzy.

Meeting Spielberg: Steven Spielberg had never met Herge, the writer of the series who inspired him to take Tintin to the big screen. So when I asked him, if he were to meet Herge, what would he want to say to the creator? The next morning when I went to meet him, he immediately recognised me.

I was surprised to see someone who has achieved so much could be so humble. When I started chatting with him I felt I was talking to a buddy. The respect he showed to everyone was unbelievable.

Wow Moment: I told him I would like to direct him in a shot (in the video interview). He was game. He wrote me a note, which brought tears to my eyes. I framed it and displayed it on the wall in my house. This was a lifetime opportunity.
