A dazzling Freida Pinto Saturday had to parrya few feisty moments from Bengal film journalists who pinned the "Slumdog
Millionaire" star for naming only one Bengali cine great.
Pinto, who was meeting the media a day after a special screening of her new Michael Winterbottom directed film "Trishna", was asked to name one stalwart from Bengal cinema who she revered the most, to which she named legendary filmmaker Mrinal
Sen.
Journalists from the Bengal media who were in attendance at the press conference pointed out that she had left out Tapan Sinha
and other greats from her list of favourites.
"I was asked for only one name. I am getting attacked for giving one name!" said Pinto in mock irritation.
Commenting on Mrinal Sen, she said: "I think he was one of the most amazing film makers." Bengal was a land which gave
India a lot of technical geniuses when it came to film making, she added.
Pinto, who became a household name with her portrayal of Latika in Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionnaire", also did not rule out
acting in Bengali films.
"Let's wait and watch, " she said.
