Several Dev Anand fans have been posting "Rest In Peace" messages on social networking sites ever since the news of his demise was flashed. But celebrities like Shobhaa De and Boman Irani feel it is inappropriate to think a man with his kind of spirit will really rest even in heaven.

"Can hear Dev Anand crooning 'Gaata rahe mera dil' to a 16-year-old apsara in heaven. Great location, Dev saab. Get ready for yet another close up!" novelist and columnist De posted on Twitter.

Dev Anand died in London early Sunday following cardiac arrest. He was 88.

Actor Boman tweeted: "Dev saab will not allow heaven to be a place where angels with wings float on clouds! He will walk in and say 'Wake up! let's make a movie!! RIP (Rest in peace) seems so inappropriate for him. Rest??? He never knew the meaning!"
